- Gyeongbokgung (palace)
Built in the fourth year of King Taejo's reign in 1395, Gyeongbokgung is the most representative palace of the Joseon Dynasty. The grandeur and imposing beauty of the palace is well represented by Geunjeongjeon, the main hall, Gyeongheoru, an impressive two-story pavilion where the king held a banquet for his subjects, and Jeongjeon, the king's office where he addressed national affairs.
- Changdeokgung (palace)
Changdeokgung is one of the five most representative palaces of the Joseon Dynasty and the best preserved among the five. Its rear garden is laced with various types of pavilions and thousands of plants and trees, reflecting the characteristics of Korean traditional gardens which emphasize harmony with nature.
- Jogyesa (temple)
Jogyesa is the headquarters of the Korean Buddhist Order Jogye, the largest Buddhist sect in Korea, and houses the Order's central administrative organizations. Buddhist shrines including Daeungjeon and Deokwangjeon, are beautifully blended with a 500-year-old pine tree and a 400-year-old pagoda tree in the vicinity.
- Amsa Prehistoric Settlement Site
This site is the largest Neolithic habitation site ever found in Korea. It features the Prehistoric Lifestyle Exhibition Hall and "Dugout Huts" where visitors are allowed to get inside and take a glimpse of the lifestyle during the Neolithic Age.
- Namsan (mountain) and vicinity
Namsan serves as a beautiful centerpiece and focal point of the city of Seoul. On its lower slopes features a lush botanical garden, public park and an octagonal pavilion, as well as the Architectural Museum and five traditional Korean houses designated as "Namsan Traditional Korean Village". On the summit Seoul Tower soars above the city, from where visitors can enjoy a three-dimensional view of Seoul in all directions or dine at a revolving restaurant.
- Lotte World
Lotte World is an amusement park complex with unique indoor and outdoor entertainment facilities. It is composed of Lotte World Adventure, a gigantic indoor amusement park, Magic Island, an outdoor lakeside amusement park and Lotte World Folk Museum featuring miniature replicas of ancient palaces. There are also indoor sports facilities for skating, swimming and bowling.
- National Folk Museum
The extensive museum features traditional artifacts, focusing on folk cultural artifacts of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). It is devoted to the collection, research, and preservation of folk artifacts. The museum also serves as a forum for social education on folk culture as it hosts diverse exhibitions and classes.
- Insa-dong
Insa-dong is the ideal place to relish Korean arts and craftsmanship. Large and small galleries, curio shops, traditional Korean paper shops, paper hangers shops, handicraft shops, ceramics shops and shops selling art-related items pack both sides of the streets and numerous side alleys. Along the street are various traditional restaurants and fascinating Korean teahouses.
